Just a few changes can make your home fabulous for the fall season. From blankets to bedding, we’ve come up with the simplest ways to add warmth to your home this fall!

Fall is one of my favorite times of year for home decorating. The season itself emphasizes warmth and comfort, and brings us closer to simpler things, and shouldn’t that be what our homes are all about? Speaking of simple, we have come up with easy ways to make your home cozy and ready for fall!

Fragrances can have a huge impact on the feeling in your home, warm inviting scents such as: pumpkin of course, cinnamon, and vanilla. However, companies are now coming up with more interesting scents that smell great! here are some great examples, Sandalwood by Izola, Firewood by C.O. Bigelow, but some of the easiest candles we know to get have to be from Bath and Body Works. They have launched a whole pumpkin candle line

Leave yourself and your guests ready to cozy up next to the fire in a chunky fall blanket, wh...

We proclaim this the most perfect modern-day fairy tale wedding. The amazing details are what made Lauren & Taylor’s big day so grand. Nothing can be more classic than a black tie wedding, which uncommonly included an outdoor reception that was both modern and sophisticated.

The bride and groom said their ‘I do’s’ at St. Rita's Catholic Church, with the reception following at the Bride’s family home here in central Louisiana.

The reception setup was spectacular! A plexiglass dancefloor let guests feel like they were floating on water as they danced the night away.

We also need to mention the beauty that were the tables. The simple white floral arrangements and candelabras with small floral arrangements of simple elegance contrasting the silver high stands with candles gave a fairy tale sensation!

The setup of the guest tables wrapping around the perimeter of the dance floor lit by candlelight was extraordinary- not a bad seat in the house!

Especially the off-the-side seating of sleek,...

Happy Monday Everyone!

We were thinking about some of our favorite items that are not only beautiful but they are functional.

A while back we purchased a small table similar to this, the height was adjustable by turning the table top, and the usefulness of this piece is endless. It’s perfect to set beside that low accent chair, but as we know not all chairs are the same, the ability to adjust the height lets you achieve a height that is comfortable and complements the space.

A Unique twist on the traditional flowerbed barrier, these stones hold a paraffin wax torch cartridge that allows them to burn for long periods of time. We love that these decorative boulders can be placed anywhere, they will give off an excellent glow for an evening dinner party outdoors.

One of our favorite décor tricks adds height to your favorite accent piece while giving an extra pop of color to your space. Using colorful leather bound books as pedestals is a great way to give a flat...

Here at Ahrens Designs we believe your home should be classic and comfortable. From an upscale loft to a chic garden cottage there are things that a living area in every home should have.

Do you ever get that feeling that something isn't quite right about a room? More often than not your room might be missing a little something in the green department. We recommend a great indoor house plant!

Our favorite?

#1.  The ZZ plant

botanically named: Zamioculcas zamiifolia

ZZ makes a great room accent and practically thrives on neglect. This easy-going house plant is forgiving if you forget to water, tolerates low light, and rarely needs fertilized, and it also seems to shrug off pests quite well. We have one in our office that has thrived on almost nothing. You can purchase this great houseplant at most local home and garden stores.

Next on the list is a touch of color, we like to do this with art! Handmade artwork is a great way to add color to a room as well as personality.
