5 Mother's Day Gifts That Will Make You the Favorite Child
As I'm sure you all know, Mother's Day is just around the corner. And if you're anything like me, you struggle each year to find something deserving of such an phenomenal woman. Well, this year I found some incredible ideas for my wonderful mother and hopefully for all of yours as well!
DIY Teacup Candle
I don't think I know a single woman who doesn't love candles. And if there are women who don't, they are surely few and far between. And while a candle from the store might be slightly generic, a hand-made candle can be so incredibly personal. I found this amazing tutorial on how to pour your own teacup candles! If teacups aren't your mom's thing, you really can pick whatever vessel you'd like to use. Another great way to personalize the candles is to customize the scent. My mom is in love with those "baking" scented candles, so I'd use tons of vanilla and sugar scents. Even if you're not the craftiest person that ever lived, this tutorial makes this project super easy.
Lorelai Gilmore Candle

My mom and I really bonded watching the show Gilmore Girls, like countless other mothers and daughters. So when I found this shop that sells a "You're my Lorelai" scented candle, I flipped. It's scented with coffee and vanilla, so if your mom is like mine (and Lorelai) and drinks coffee nonstop, how can you pass this up? Bonus: if you're not super crafty or don't have time to make your own, this is a great option. In fact, this whole shop has an incredible mix of candles based around some of your favorite shows and movies.
DIY Sugar Scrub

What mom doesn't love to be pampered? Help your hard working mother to rejuvenate this summer with a home-made sugar scrub. Again, a surprisingly easy craft if you follow this tutorial. Plus, they have free printables for tags as well as info on ordering essential oils!
Simone LeBlanc Box
Another pampering option for the creativity impaired (and those who want to spend a litte extra dough) is a fabulous gift box from Simone LeBlanc. Their Relaxation Gift Box is just the epitome of self-indulgence. In the box you'll find a coconut milk bath soak, rose hibiscus face mist, a soothing candle, a natural sea sponge, a chocolate bar (I don't even need to know anything else about his box), a 100% cotton Turkish towel, and some very fancy soaps. Honestly, if you're going to spend this much on a gift box, it should be this one.
DIY Mom-and-Me Notebook
When I was in middle school, my mom was going back to college and she thought a notebook where we wrote letters to each other would be a great idea to keep in touch when she and I didn't get to spend much time together. It was. Especially when we were fighting (as all mothers and daughters do) and didn't feel like saying nice things to each other, this notebook really helped bridge the gap we'd created. Well, when researching for this blog post, I came across this tutorial for making a "Gratitude Journal" for a mom, where you personalize a notebook with pictures and washi tape so that your mom can document all of the things she's thankful for. But I couldn't help but remember the blue fuzzy notebook my mom and I passed quietly back and forth in the house.
I hope that this (admittedly short) list helps you find the perfect gift for your mother this Mother's Day! As always, follow us on Facebook and Instagram and let us know what you think of our posts!
